The AI knowledge pyramid
When you’re trying to learn anything, it’s helpful to structure your learning plan like a pyramid which includes a mix of activities that involve building a solid foundation first before attempting to apply those skills.
In the context of AI from a non-engineers perspective, the AI knowledge pyramid includes 3 essential layers. We’ll use these layers to structure this post to help you gain an understanding of AI principles and terminology as quickly as possible without having to waste time trying to find the most useful resources yourself.
First, we’ll curate some of the best and most helpful free resources available on the web for folks wanting to get up to speed with AI quickly. This will include short courses from Google, Deepmind and open source projects like Hugging Face.
Then, once you’ve built up a solid understanding of the essentials, we’ll explore some of the ways you can analyse these technologies to understand how they’re applied in the real world.
And finally, we’ll look at some ideas on how you can apply these principles both personally and at work to help shape your own product’s strategy.
